Head of Secondary Girls [Qatar]

Head of Secondary Girls

We are currently seeking to recruit an exceptional Head of Secondary Girls to work closely alongside the overall Head of Secondary and build upon the success of the school.

Candidates must be suitably qualified and experienced with the British curriculum (Key Stage 3 – 5). The ideal candidate will have an innovative, forward-thinking approach combined with a strong pastoral background. Essential for shortlisting, candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive senior leadership experience ideally in the UK as well as internationally. The role is suitable for experienced Heads as well as those who have substantial Deputy Head experience and are ready for the next stage of their career.

Doha Academy provides a British-based education based upon the English National Curriculum and Cambridge International Curriculum from KG to Year 12. Incorporating the mandatory requirements of the Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education (Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History), the role will ideally suit a candidate with curriculum development experience. A person with strong background in teacher development, assessment, and potentially bilingual education will be favoured. Non-essential but desirable is experience working in the Middle East / the Gulf.

Following the success of Doha Academy’s national (“QNSA”) and international (“NEASC”) accreditation processes in 2022, enrollment across the group of schools has grown. Offering an outstanding, accessible and all-inclusive education, the Head of Secondary Girls will be able to demonstrate clear alignment to the school’s Vision and Mission.

Doha Academy is seeking to expand further, and the role offers the right candidate an excellent opportunity to collaborate with the other Heads of School and upper management in driving school improvement. It is an exciting time to join Doha Academy as it embarks on its “ACE Learning” preparation as part of NEASC’s school improvement cycle. We therefore welcome applicants who have external school evaluation experience.

Applicants must have, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree, PGCE or B.Ed., and QTS with a minimum of two to three years’ experience in a senior, school leadership and management role. It is also desirable that the candidate has a NPQH or higher-level degree in education or related field.

In addition to the benefits outlined, we offer:

  • A permanent contract.
  • A competitive, tax-free salary.
  • Fully-furnished two or three bedroom apartment in the centre of Doha (including utilities).
  • Annual return air ticket.
  • Medical cover.
  • End of service gratuity.

All offers of employment are subject to background screening checks in line with our Child Protection and Safeguarding standards.
