Role overview

As a Project Coordinator ACTIVE you will be providing effective project planning and implementation of the Active Citizenship Through Inclusive Volunteering and Empowerment (ACTIVE) project in Thailand. You will be working with implementing partners, youth-led CSOs/groups, Royal Thai government, and volunteer networks. With these partners you will promote youth-led policy advocacy and the uptake of Global Standards for Volunteering for Development, in alignment with VSO’s Volunteering for Development framework.

Ideal Applicant Summary

The ideal candidate has 3 years project management experience in community development. You have excellent people skills as well as organizational skills and you are passionate to combine those for capacity building communities and strengthening the ACTIVE project. You are willing to travel for the project.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in social science, community development or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the NGO sector as a project officer, with experience in project management cycle, policy advocacy, youth engagement and empowerment.
  • Knowledge of project monitoring and evaluation. Ability to analyse, evaluate and summarize key findings from the activities as delivered.
  • Experience building capacity of local community youth members, organizations.
  • Ability and desire to facilitate positive change, seek and share knowledge, and build sustainable working relationships.
  • Willingness to travel, nationally and internationally, and to spend time away from home in a remote and rural areas as the project and role required.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office with advanced skills using Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to multi-task are essential. Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent people skills.

Location

This is a fulltime role, working from the office in Chidlom area, Bangkok. Working from home setting can be discussed in advance with direct line manager on occasions. Travel is part of the role.
