About the role
TMS Global are a wholly owned subsidiary of DS Smith PLC, a FTSE100 listed multi-national packaging and display manufacturing business who are a leading global provider of corrugated packaging solutions. TMS Global specialise in the outsourcing of retail display, print and packaging and are active in 97 markets globally and we are made up of just over 300 people who are spread internationally across APAC, LATAM, EMEA and NA.
Due to growth within our TMS Packaging services, we have two exciting new opportunities to join our wider sourcing team. As Junior Buyer you will be responsible for the building and maintaining great relationships with all our Packaging supplier across all Packaging categories.
The role will be focusing on supporting the wider sourcing team and particularly our category managers across the day-to-day functions such as, supply chain and procurement.
Some of your general responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance of vendor base towards TMS Standards.
- Supplier relationship owner for key suppliers, as defined by the supplier.
- Deliver measurable cost savings through supplier negotiation.
- Support the client facing teams to maximise gross profit margins through knowledge of the client contractual agreements.
- Review and assess supply interruption risks, taking necessary action to mitigate / manage such risks.
- Benchmark and review the supplier base in line with internal and client obligations on a regular basis.
- Develop strong working relationships with strategic vendors and partners.
- Support Negotiating contractual terms with new vendors including SLAs and KPIs.
- Propose rationalisation of existing vendor base where appropriate to create maximum leverage to deliver cost improvements.
- Periodically support Category Buyers with quarterly operational reviews to ensure compliance with KPIs / SLAs
- Prepare and chair supplier quarterly strategic reviews.
- QC check and publish weighted average scorecards and rank vendors as appropriate.
- Ensure where it is appropriate, vendors meet and adhere to standards. I.e.: ISO27001 through both reviews and formal audits, in line with client contractual obligations
- Ensure full awareness and understanding of vendors’ current and future product portfolios.
- Prepare internal/external audits when required.
- Support review and assess business risks, highlighting to Stakeholder to align on necessary action to be taken.
About you.
This role would be great for you if you have already gained experience in supplier management of secondary packaging and have knowledge of different materials such as corrugated, label, plastics, or Paper.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Fluent in Hungarian and Professional English language level (both spoken and written)
- Prior experience in Packaging Procurement/Sourcing with Secondary Packaging experience ideal but not essential.
- Experience setting, measuring, and monitoring SLA’s, standards of performance and KPI’s of suppliers.
